Assuming I don't find a way to get myself in trouble prior to then, on Thursday I will leave Arizona. I will head to Lawrence, Kansas, where my Employer tells me I will remain until approximately January, at which time I will move to San Antonio, Texas. That's the plan, currently. I expect to arrive sometime on the 12th or 13th, depending on how I drive.
That means I will stay in Kansas just long enough to not be able to afford to stay at a hotel at my own expense -- unlike currently, where my Employer pays for my hotel -- but not quite long enough to go through all the effort involved in getting an apartment. That's a tricky situation that I'm currently contemplating.
That being said, there are a few nice things about heading to Kansas. Namely, I get to visit and chat with people I know. That includes previous co-workers; they're cool people to work with. They're the only ones in the area I've told about coming back -- to my knowledge, others are still operating under the assumption that I'll be going straight to Texas from Arizona.
I've specifically not told many people, purely for the suprise factor. Specifically one person: Olivia. I have not seen Olivia in many months, so it will be nice to hang-out with her again. I'm pretty sure she is not (yet) reading this blog, so for at least a few days my secret is likely to be safe. I think it will be a fun little suprise to be able to call her up when I get there and say, "hey, let's go hang-out tonight," when she's not expecting me to even be in the area. With luck, she won't be busy working, and will actually answer her phone.
Just as cool, I will get to see my pets, Trista and Tomas.
The two of them are currently being watched for me by a coworker (and his wife). While I appreciate their volunteering to watch my pets for me, I do miss the little trouble-makers. I'm not sure when I will take them back, exactly, because of the living situation I will face in Kansas. But soon, soon...
As far as visiting other people...we'll see. I'll of course let others know I'm back. Two people I'd like to see when I return are Nick and Anna. Unfortunately, they now live in Waco, Texas, which is a few miles away from where I'm headed in Kansas. I'm sure I'll see them soon enough when I move to Texas. Nick: In the event you're reading this, hi. (heh) Take a look around Vox and see if you might like it. You might not feel you need a blog, but maybe you'll be suprised. Another benefit I forgot to mention is that it makes it easy to keep tabs on what happens in peoples' lives; I know you like phone calls, but I make for boring phone calls. lol Incidentally, when next I'm in Texas, it's drink-time. (And as I was typing this, you and she called about 40-Year Old Virgin. Where the hell did that come from? lol)
...Right then, I'm done for now.
